Board of Directors

The Board of Directors is made up of caring, concerned adults from the community. Our board provides direction, oversight, and vision for the Executive Director. The team meets bi-monthly for prayer, ministry updates, and strategic planning.

Meet our Board

• 

  Darren Ahearn- board Chair, at-large board member for 4 years. Darren was a full-time youth pastor for 13 years before becoming a real estate broker. He is married and has 6 boys.

• 

  Dave Bandy- at-large board member for 7 years. Dave worked in management in the high-tech industry before retiring. He is married and has 3 children, 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

• 

  Ward Childerston- board Vice-Chair, board member for 6 years, represents Washington County ministries. Ward worked in Christian radio before he retired. He is married and has 4 sons, 9 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

• 

  Elwood Hipkins- at-large board member for 2 years. Elwood is a dairy farmer and used to work with the Brethren Volunteer Service. He is married, has 3 children and 6 grandchildren.

• 

  Chris Hughes- board member for 1 year, represents Deaf Teen Quest/ Deaf Leadership Ministries. Chris is the pastor of Deaf Calvary Church which meets on the campus of Maryland School for the Deaf. Chris is married and has 4 children.

  John Nicodemus- board Treasurer, at large board member. John retired from teaching in Frederick County Public Schools. John is married and has 3 children.
